Northeastern Air Quality is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Technician to join our team. As an organisation committed to improving air quality through expert testing, assessment, and environmental consulting, we rely on a robust and efficient IT infrastructure to support our mission. This Full-time position, based in Mississippi State, Mississippi, United States, is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual to manage and maintain our internal technology systems, ensuring our team has the support they need to serve our residential and commercial clients effectively.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of our computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefit from them. You will play a crucial role in empowering our specialists to deliver solutions that promote healthier air standards.
Salary: $50 - $60 USD per hour, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
• Provide first and second-line technical support to all staff, addressing hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, applications, and networks.
• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of all IT systems, undertaking routine preventative measures.
• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults and replacing parts as required.
• Set up new user accounts and profiles and manage access permissions.
• Support the implementation of new IT projects and technology roll-outs across the organisation.
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets and manage equipment procurement.
• Ensure the security of our data, network access, and backup systems.
• Provide procedural documentation and relevant reports to support IT operations.
Qualifications
• Proven experience working as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, and mobile devices.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with a range of operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft 365).
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• A strong sense of organisation and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• A relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is desirable.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) would be considered an advantage.
