IT Technician
Summary
The IT Technician provides front-line technical support to students, teachers, and staff in a K–12 educational environment. This role is responsible for assisting with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of classroom technologies, student devices, and staff workstations. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, technically curious, and eager to grow their skills while supporting meaningful work in public education.
Duties and Responsibilities

Respond to help desk tickets and classroom support requests in a timely and professional manner from initial request through and including follow up.

Setup and configure computers, Chromebooks, tablets, printers, projectors, and other instructional technologies.

Create and maintain Google Accounts, Active Directory Accounts for students and staff.

Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, and connectivity issues (e.g., logins, printing problems, app malfunctions).

Support students and staff with password resets, account access, and basic tech-related questions.

Perform routine maintenance and updates on classroom technology devices.

Help with inventory tracking of technology assets (tagging, documenting, organizing).

Assist with the distribution of student devices during deployment periods.

Escalate more complex issues to Level 2 or senior technicians when necessary.

Maintain clear and accurate records of work performed using the school’s helpdesk system.

Follow all district data privacy, security, and acceptable use policies.

Provide courteous, respectful, and responsive service to all school staff and students

Communicate effectively with students, staff, administration and the IT team.

Perform any other duties related to the IT Department as needed.

Support after-hour events (Graduations, Musical, Staff Events, etc) as needed

Commuting between campuses on occasion
Qualifications

Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.

Knowledge of and ability to perform hardware and software repairs to various computer systems (Chromebooks, Windows PCs, iPads, etc.)

Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.

Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of focus.

Record maintenance skills.

Ability to provide direction to staff and/or students to resolve technological issues.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals.

Ability to determine computer problems and to coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.

Ability to analyze and resolve basic computer problems.

Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of devices and/or applications and systems.

Working knowledge of server management, networking, security (cameras and access control).
