IT Technician - Level 1

Since 1923 Schneider Tire Outlet has grown to be one of the largest tire dealers in the state of Michigan. We pride ourselves on our quality of customer service. We believe customer service is an attitude not a department.

We are looking to add a Level 1 IT Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is eager to grow their technical skills while providing first-line support to employees and assisting with day-to-day IT operations.

This is a 100% on-site position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end users in person, by phone, and remotely.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, printer, mobile device, and network connectivity issues.
  • Assist employees with basic technical guidance and training on company systems and tools.
  • Perform routine user account tasks, including password resets, account updates, and access requests.
  • Support Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, user accounts, and permissions).
  • Assist with Windows systems, Active Directory tasks, and basic Microsoft Server support.
  • Support deployment and basic troubleshooting of network equipment, including access points, switches, and related infrastructure.
  • Set up and deploy workstations, laptops, and related hardware, software, and peripherals for new and existing employees.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, monitoring, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and IT procedures in the ticketing system and knowledge base.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as needed.
  • Travel to other company locations as required to provide onsite support and installations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic Active Directory concepts.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, user accounts, and basic permissions).
  • Exposure to Microsoft Windows Server environments and network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, patch panels, and cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Valid driver’s license required with willingness to travel as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
