IT Technician (Part-Time)

Job Summary

Linden Hall is seeking a Part-time IT Technician who collaborates with faculty and staff in areas of academics, marketing, communications, and acts as a liaison between the school and IU13 contracted technology services.

The Part-Time IT Technician will use expert judgment in decision-making, troubleshooting, and resolving on-site technological issues including installation and removal of software from computer systems and networks, diagnostics and technical repairs outside of the IU13 basic support contract. In addition, this position will coordinate with the IU13 for network management, design and implementation and support faculty and staff on campus technical needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledgeable of various educational software programs, including Microsoft 365, Blackbaud, Finalsite, and Raiser’s Edge

Essential Duties

  • Provides services through telephone, email, and face-to-face contact approximately 24 hours per week
  • Assembles hardware and installs or deletes software to ensure all hardware and software are working properly for desktop computers, laptops, telephones, and copiers
  • Troubleshoots computer equipment to confirm it is running correctly
  • Recovers any lost or accidentally deleted data in conjunction with the IU13
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or network issues beyond the IU13 contracted technology service
  • Maintains applications and virus protection measures
  • Monitors network performance and makes adjustments, corrections, and/or changes beyond the IU13 contracted technology services
  • Works with network users to solve problems, adjust, and/or improve beyond the IU13 contracted technology services

Pre-Employment Training Requirements

Candidates selected for this position must complete all mandatory pre-employment training prior to their start date.
