IT Technician - Retail / Convenience Store Chain

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring that all computer hardware and software systems operate efficiently. This role requires a strong customer service orientation and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.

- **Manage and Upgrade Systems:**
- Oversee servers and IT infrastructure.
- Ensure reliable system backups and deploy updates.
- Provide comprehensive IT support and troubleshooting across all company systems.

- **Store-Level IT Support:**
- Travel to retail locations to support store-level IT infrastructure.
- Ensure continuous uptime and operational efficiency.
- Utilize strong networking and retail hardware knowledge to diagnose and resolve on-site issues.

- **Strategic IT Planning:**
- Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for enhancing organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinate resources and timetables with various departments to complete projects.
- Verify application results through targeted system audits.

- **Asset and Inventory Management:**
- Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures to preserve assets.
- Maintain an organized inventory of hardware and software, including end-user devices, IT supplies, cabling, and licensing for smartphones and remote satellite store PCs.

- **User Access and Licensing:**
- Manage user access and licensing for Office 365, Windows Active Directory, and accounting software.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, and application issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in IT technical support, including setting up laptops, swapping out hardware components, and managing POS system changes.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues, particularly in store-level environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide in-person IT support, including on-site visits to retail locations.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, computer and system networking, system backups, and update deployments.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with multiple departments.
  • Experience managing user access and licensing for Office 365, Windows Active Directory, or similar systems.

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Direct experience with and proficiency in using PDI software.
  • Knowledge of SASE Security solutions used at store level
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a retail or store-level IT support environment.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery procedures and asset inventory management

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
