Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Design Engineer, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.
We envisage success in this role to include;

Responsibility for providing the Head of Section and Ashghal management with strategic ITS and organisational advice to maintain Qatar's position as a leader in RMC operations; supporting coordination with key Qatar stakeholders and international organisations

Identify and analyse international ITS technology and operational best practice and assess benefits and relevance for implementing in Qatar

Prepare, update and track the ROMD ITS Strategy that aligns with the Qatar National Vision and Ashghal Strategies and Initiatives
-
Support the Head of Section for ITS & Tunnels with the transition to performance based framework contracts, guiding the team on the key areas of focus and establishing tools
and techniques for monitoring the improvements in asset performance and cost effectiveness -
Support Ashghal management with preparing presentations, briefing notes and scanning visits to advise on the latest ITS technologies, best practice, operational models and
procurement models -
Support the Head of Section with the development and implementation of robust KPI measuring and reporting, performance analysis and improvement strategies

Contribute to the resolution of technical issues, such as substandard products, on projects and providing technical guidance and coaching to other team members

Guide and support the Programme level coordination of the Section's projects and day-to-day operational and contract management actions; developing additional governance
processes if required and coordinating the interdependencies between operations, project implementation and maintenance activities -
Develop and manage service-based governance processes and procedures to improve the availability and reliability of RMC services

Review and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of RMC Standard Operating Procedures, monitoring the RMC coordination with key stakeholders for the management of major events and major incidents - event review and analysis for major events and incidents to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Guide and structure the RMC planning for major events, develop and manage the operational readiness plan

Technical authority for RMC systems projects

Operational gap analysis and develop proposals for new or innovative technologies as a substitute for further ITS deployment

Lead the analysis and solutioneering for complex ITS engineering problems.

Support the team with preparations and roadmaps for digital transformation for the ITS discipline

Share industry best practice with the team and support junior managers with their professional development
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of relevant experience partnered with a Bachelor of Engineering or relevant, from an accredited University or College program.

Experience in engineering design within Highways and Roads industry.

In-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance, and design activities.

Knowledge of procurement and contract management.

Certification obtained from North America, West Europe, Australia

Minimum of 25 field.

Minimum of 10 ITS area including ITS planning, deployment, procurement, Control Room operations, systems integration and optimisation

Ability to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders

Chartered Membership in Engineering or relevant professional body would be an advantage
-
Current/valid Qatar Driving License would be an advantage
