Job Summary:

The ITS Programmer Analyst performs technical duties related to software applications, analyzing business processes, and developing solutions to address technology-related challenges. The position involves maintaining and supporting critical administrative systems, including Student Information Systems (SIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and associated web portals. The analyst will apply technical expertise to the maintenance and improvement of associated computing applications and may provide training and support to administrative users. The ITS Programmer Analyst reports directly to the Director of IT Operations.

Primary Tasks:

  • Provide primary administration, development, and support for the university's SIS and ERP systems and associated web portals.
  • Develop web portals for students, staff, and faculty.
  • Analyze business processes, identify technology-based solutions, and develop software applications to address issues.
  • Diagnose and correct errors in program logic and coding, as well as provide support and troubleshooting assistance to users.
  • Design, implement, and maintain computer programs and systems according to user needs. This includes developing new programs and modifying existing ones to enhance functionality.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to users regarding hardware and software problems.
  • Develop and provide training to end users on new or updated technologies.
  • Create and update documentation for applications and provide training to users on new or updated processes.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and end users to identify system requirements and perform analysis of technical alternatives.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of various programming languages, including scripting languages, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and C#.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Proficiency with software like Microsoft Office, IDEs, and Git.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of experience in systems development, application management, or related areas.
  • Active member of a local church and aligned with OC’s Christian mission.
