Janitor & Floor Care Technician

Shift: 11a-8p M-F

The Janitor & Floor Tech performs general cleaning of a building and keeping it maintained and in good condition. This can include vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, taking out trash and recycling and washing and cleaning windows and mirrors. Strips and waxes floors using low speed side by side buffer and wet vacuum. Carpet cleaning using extractor or bonnet buffing using a low speed side by side buffer. Buffing floors using a high speed burnisher/buffer. Use floor care chemicals according to proper procedures. Use other equipment such as auto-scrubbers, blowers, scrappers, manual doodle bug, electric doodle bug, and other cleaning chemicals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Training

· Completes and maintains all required State mandated trainings such as, Universal Precautions, CPR / First Aid, Signs & Symptoms of Illness & Injury

· Attends meetings and training sessions as required

Daily Programing

• Responsible for receiving and carrying out the instructions and directions issued by the supervisor;
• Assures satisfactory completion of work assigned to self;
• Perform any other job related duties requested by management;
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them with commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers and other necessary equipment, tools chemicals and supplies;
• Dry and wet mop, scrub and buff floors using roto and other machines;
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets using available machines, and chemicals;
• Responsible for receiving and carrying out the instructions and directions for his/her crew issued by the supervisor and Team Leader;
• Assures satisfactory completion of work assigned;
• Perform any other job related duties requested by management;
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them;
• Gather and empty trash/recycling;
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors;
• Clean/dust walls, furniture, partitions, white & caulk boards, handrails etc.;
• Clean drinking fountains;
• Shampoo carpets;
• Stripping, coating and polishing floors;
• Spray cleaning and buffing floors;
• Service, clean, and supply restroom/shower/locker rooms;

· Must maintain a professional appearance, arrive to work on time and be able to follow instructions from the Janitorial Supervisor or designee;

· Works all assigned schedules, including but not limited to: arriving and departing on time,
requesting time off in advance, and notifying your supervisor of changes to your assigned work schedule;

· Ensures each individuals’ rights are protected;

· Treats individuals with dignity and respect;

Communication

· Reports any noted problems to the Janitorial Supervisor or Team Leader immediately and complete a written incident report form;

· Acts as a representative for James L. Maher Center in a professional manner when required

· Represents James L. Maher Center in a professional manner to families, service coordinators, State officials, and community partners when required;

Teamwork

· Treats all individuals and coworkers and with dignity, respect, and fairness;

Safety

· Reports unsafe conditions, environment, and equipment to the Janitorial Supervisor;

· Follows safety protocols to foster a safe working environment;

All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Valid driver’s license- real ID
Ability to lift/push/pull 50lbs.

U.S. Government Background Investigation
A favorable National Criminal Background check along with OIG clearance

High school diploma or equivalent

Job Type: Part-time
