The Facilities Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and operational environment across ALE’s office spaces, manufacturing areas, and R&D pilot production lines. This role directly supports ALE’s mission by ensuring facilities meet high standards required for advanced battery development, aerospace-grade manufacturing, and regulatory compliance.
This is not basic janitorial work—this role requires attention to detail, discipline, and the ability to operate within controlled manufacturing environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning of office areas, conference rooms, restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
- Maintain cleanliness of manufacturing floors, pilot lines, and controlled workspaces
- Ensure all floors, surfaces, and workstations meet ALE cleanliness standards
- Remove waste, recyclables, and hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
Manufacturing & Pilot Line Support
- Clean and maintain production areas without disrupting operations
- Follow contamination control procedures for battery cell production environments, Support cleanroom or near-cleanroom protocols where applicable
- Assist in maintaining organized workspaces for engineering and production teams
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA, environmental, and ALE internal safety standards
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and materials used in industrial environments
- Identify and report safety hazards, spills, or facility issues immediately
- Support AS9100 Rev D facility cleanliness and audit readiness requirements
Inventory &Supplies
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, PPE, and facility consumables
- Coordinate with management on supply needs and ordering
- Maintain organized storage of cleaning equipment and materials
- General Facility Support
- Assist with facility setup for meetings, events, or customer visits
- Support minor facility tasks (e.g., moving equipment, organizing spaces)
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to maintain workflow efficiency
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+years of experience in facility cleaning, industrial cleaning, or similar role
- Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or technical environments preferred
- Ability to follow strict procedures and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in execution
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active work
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Work Environment
- Combination of office, manufacturing floor, and pilot production lab environments
- Exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and PPE requirements
- May require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on operations
