Janitorial Area Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Janitorial Area Supervisor to oversee janitorial operations across all San Antonio Public Library locations. This supervisory role requires strong leadership skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple teams and sites effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards, inspecting facilities, delivering supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Job description

• Supervise and support janitorial staff across multiple library locations

• Conduct routine inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met

• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback

• Ensure appropriate staff coverage at all times

• Deliver supplies in company vehicle to multiple locations and submit supply orders as needed

• Serve as the main point of contact for client communication and issue resolution

• Respond to emergency cleaning situations promptly and efficiently

• Complete quality inspection reports for management review

• Reports to Assistant Director of Operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of janitorial experience; 1 year in a supervisory role preferred

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to travel between multiple sites throughout San Antonio (company vehicle is provided)

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety procedures
