OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
This position will be responsible for the cleaning & landscaping of a highway rest stop. Quality assurance, maintaining overhead costs, and ensuring high customer service standards are the major tasks associated with this position. Position has frequent interactions with travelers on the roadways.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Floor Care
• Cleaning of restrooms repeatedly
• Window cleaning
• Removing of trash and recyclables
• Vacuuming & Dusting
• Snow removal
• Landscaping

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

• Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience
• Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task
• Good customer service skills
• Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to function as part of a cohesive team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Previous cleaning experience required

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Capable of walking around the location to accomplish various tasks
• Must be capable of standing for several hours
• Must be able to withstand cold temperatures in the winter and warm temperatures in the summer. Position is based outdoors
• Must be able to moving arms back and forth in a “mopping” motion
• Must be able to lift >20 lbs.
• Must be able to push a shovel
• Must be able to climb stairs
• Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
• Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations
• Must be willing to learn how to operate some landscaping equipment
