Janitorial Maintenance Worker (Contingent on Contract Award)

Compensation:
$19–$21 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule & Hours:

• Estimated 6–8 hours per week
• Cleaning performed three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), typically between 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
• Occasional additional hours for deep cleaning or special tasks as needed.

Position Overview

Xplicit Technologies, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Janitorial Maintenance Worker to provide professional cleaning services at the NOAA National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office in Eureka, California. This position is contingent upon contract award. The selected candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that supports NOAA’s 24/7 weather forecasting operations.

Scope of Work & Responsibilities

You will perform all janitorial duties in accordance with NOAA’s Statement of Work, including:

Routine Cleaning (3 Times Weekly):

• Empty and sanitize all trash receptacles; replace liners and transport waste to exterior bins.
• Vacuum all carpeted areas and entry rugs, including edges and thresholds; spot clean as needed.
• Dust-mop and damp-mop resilient floors using appropriate dust-control agents.
• Clean and disinfect kitchen/break room floors, sinks, countertops, walls, tables, and appliances.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms: sweep and damp-mop floors with germicidal solution; sanitize sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, and handicap rails; refill all dispensers.
• Clean and disinfect drinking fountains; polish interior and exterior of entrance glass doors.

Weekly Tasks:

• Wet-mop all uncarpeted floors and hallways with detergent to remove built-up dirt and residues.
• Deep-clean kitchen appliances and wipe down recycling bins, refrigerator, and trash receptacles.

Monthly Tasks:

• High/low dusting of fixtures, window sills, doors, splash guards, baseboards, ledges, and ventilation grilles.
• Polish all finished wood surfaces, including conference-room tables and bookcases.
• Deep-clean restrooms including pipes under sinks, chrome polishing, and light switch sanitation.

Special Flooring Care:

• Clean static-free raised tile in operations area using only manufacturer-approved cleaners and without disturbing cords or equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a Tier 1 federal background check and comply with NOAA security protocols.
• Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
