Janitorial Worker

Job Summary:

Responsible for keeping the property clean, organized, and disinfected.

Core Job Functions:

• Sweeps, mops, vacuums, dusts, and disinfects floors, surfaces, and common areas on a daily basis.
• Cleans and maintains restrooms.
• Performs the necessary janitorial tasks to get a unit in like new condition.
• Empties trash bins and picks up trash around the property.
• Ensures restrooms and maintenance shop are adequately stocked with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
• Maintains outdoor grounds such as cutting grass and trimming bushes.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or unclogging drains.
• Maintains janitorial and building equipment.
• Notifies supervisor of any safety hazards, maintenance needs, or other issues.
• Ensures property is always clear and accessible during snow falls
• Tours and inspects the property regularly.
• Participates in an on-call rotation to ensure someone is always available to handle service requests outside of normal business hours
• Available for emergencies that may arise outside of normal business hours. e. flood, fire, power loss, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is preferred.

Skills:

• Must be a team player
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to bend and stretch throughout the day.
• Standing and walking for long periods of time
• Must be detail-oriented to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance
• Must be able to prioritize and have effective time management skills
• Will have exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Must be willing to wear a uniform

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
