Janitor/Maintenance Technician

Overview
Shenker Academy is seeking a reliable Janitor/Maintenance Technician to support the cleanliness, safety, and daily upkeep of our school campus. This role combines janitorial work with light maintenance and handyman tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas; sanitize high-touch surfaces; respond to spills and urgent cleaning needs.
• Perform basic repairs, light plumbing, painting, touch-ups, and safe use of hand/power tools.
• Move and set up furniture.
• Assist with classroom and event setup.
• Maintain storage areas organized and track and inventory supplies.
• Follow OSHA safety protocols, proper chemical handling, and PPE requirements.
• Report facility issues and support staff with daily cleaning/maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial, custodial, or maintenance work required.
• Basic plumbing, repair, and general handyman skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Be able to multitask and juggle multiple projects in a high energy school environment.

Physical Requirements

• Be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday - Friday; hours may vary based on school needs.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
