We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst/System Engineer to support financial systems operations and business analysis projects.

This role is ideal for someone who can bridge business and technology, handle system support and issue analysis, and contribute to project delivery in a financial systems environment.

Location: New York City, NY

Responsibilities

Provide system support and perform issue and incident analysis for financial systems.

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new initiatives, system enhancements, and operational improvements.

Work closely with users, stakeholders, and technical teams to clarify needs and translate business requirements into effective system solutions.

Support business analysis activities across financial systems projects, including requirement definition, workflow analysis, gap analysis, and process improvement.

Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with internal and external teams to drive resolution.

Prepare functional documentation, including business requirements, process flows, test scenarios, and related project materials.

Assist with testing, user acceptance support, implementation coordination, and post-launch follow-up as needed.

Communicate effectively in both Japanese and English with clients, users, and project teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.

Strong experience in system support, issue analysis, and business analysis.

Knowledge of financial products and systems, including one or more of the following:

Foreign exchange

Swaps

Bonds

Derivatives

Core banking systems

Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into practical system solutions.

Japanese and English bilingual communication skills required.

Ability to work effectively with both business users and technical teams.

Experience in banking, financial services, or other financial systems environments is strongly preferred.

Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote or distributed work environment.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
