Japanese QA Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Japanese QA Engineer to support testing and quality assurance for a consumer-facing eCommerce platform. The role will focus on validating UI/UX, user journeys, workflows, and functional behaviour for Japanese market users.
The ideal candidate will ensure that the application delivers a high-quality, localized experience for Japanese customers, with accurate language usage, intuitive user interfaces, and smooth purchasing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual functional testing of the eCommerce platform across web and mobile environments.
• Validate UI/UX elements including layout, navigation, localization accuracy, and user interactions.
• Test end-to-end user workflows including:
• product browsing
• product search
• shopping cart management
• checkout and payment processes
• order confirmation and notifications
• Verify Japanese language content, translations, and localization quality within the application.
• Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and regression test suites.
• Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar).
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX designers to ensure issues are clearly understood and resolved.
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent user experience.
• Participate in UAT testing and release validation cycles.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of QA or software testing experience
• Fluent Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or N1 preferred)
• Strong understanding of UI/UX testing and user journey validation
• Experience testing eCommerce platforms or consumer-facing applications
• Experience creating test cases, test plans, and defect reports
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development environments
• Experience using test management and bug tracking tools
• Strong attention to detail and usability perspective

• Experience testing mobile apps (iOS / Android)
• Familiarity with automation testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress)
• Experience with localization testing for Japanese markets
• Knowledge of payment gateway testing and checkout flows
• Experience testing multi-language websites

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Permanent

Pay: $12,000.00 - $15,000.00 per year
