Jet Boat Captain

Job Summary:
Jet Boat Captain wanted for Klamath River Jet Boat Tours. Permanent seasonal position available. Captain must be willing to work weekends and holidays and in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate will be looking for long term employment, possess knowledge of the Klamath River, have knowledge of area history, marine life and culture and be able to communicate that information in an engaging and entertaining manner.

There is a training period for vessel operation and tour content.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. USCG OUPV or Master Captains license, CPR and First Aid Card, Coast Guard Drug Testing Program 2. Must have excellent public speaking skills; past tour guide experience preferred but not necessary. Exemplary customer relation skills and ability to deal with operation of vessel while conducting historical and informational tours.3. Candidates must be very safety-minded and have a strong knowledge of USCG regulations and safety procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Operating vessel safely while conducting engaging and informative sightseeing tour.

2. Ability to handle stressful situations while operating boat safely for corporate charters, photo/film shoots and other private charter conditions.

3. Daily operations of charters and tours including vessel prep, cleaning and ongoing maintenance.

4. Assist in maintaining daily bookings/departure logs and assist with on-site ticket collection and payment procedures.

5. All work performed within established procedures and with high regard for vessels and equipment and most importantly, passenger enjoyment and safety.

6. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, pertain and maintenance instruction, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

7. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or other employees.

8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

9. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

10. CPR and First Responder certified and retain through employment.

11. Basic Boat Mechanic Skills

Pay: $25.12 - $32.77 per hour
