Role Overview
We are looking for one strong jewellery designer to take ownership of design ideation, hand drawings, and design development across collections. This role is ideal for a designer who understands both creative direction and manufacturing realities, and can translate ideas into commercially viable jewellery.
CAD knowledge is an advantage, but the role is design-first, not CAD-heavy.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Ideation
- Create original jewellery concepts aligned with the business' aesthetic
- Develop cohesive collections, not just individual pieces
- Design across categories (chains, bangles, pendants, earrings, layering pieces)
- Research trends with a strong focus on Western and international jewellery tastes
Drawing & Design Communication
- Produce clear, detailed hand sketches for design approval and manufacturing
- Communicate proportions, scale, finishes, and functional details effectively
- Prepare reference visuals, mood boards, and inspiration decks when required
Technical & Manufacturing Understanding
- Strong understanding of what can and cannot be manufactured in silver and vermeil
- Awareness of:
- Thickness, weight, durability, and wearability
- Vermeil plating limitations and best practices
- Clasps, links, hinges, and functional components
- Work closely with manufacturers/artisans to refine designs for production
Collaboration & Process
- Collaborate remotely with founders and production partners
- Iterate designs based on feedback, cost, and feasibility
- Maintain organised design files and documentation
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in jewellery design
- Strong hand-drawing and concept development skills
- Experience working with 925 silver (vermeil experience is a plus)
- Clear understanding of Western / contemporary jewellery aesthetics
- Ability to think in collections and brand language
- Comfortable working remotely and managing timelines independently
Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
- Basic to intermediate CAD knowledge (Rhino / Matrix / similar)
- Experience with export-oriented or contemporary brands
- Understanding of pricing, weight optimisation, and commercial viability
What We’re Looking For
- A designer who thinks, not copies
- Someone who understands that good design balances creativity and feasibility
- A long-term collaborator who wants to grow with the brand
Compensation
- Competitive salary, aligned with experience and portfolio
- Clear scope for growth as the brand scales
