Role Overview
The Jewellery Designer will support the design team in creating commercially viable and aesthetically appealing jewellery collections, from concept sketches to final production-ready designs. The role suits someone with basic industry experience who is eager to learn, follow trends, and work closely with production and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create design sketches and detailed drawings for rings, necklaces, earrings, bangles and other jewellery pieces.
- Use design software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, AutoCAD, CorelDRAW, Illustrator) to develop 2D/3D jewellery designs and technical drawings.
- Assist in developing new collections based on market trends, seasons, festivals, and customer preferences.
- Select and specify materials, including metals, gemstones and other components, as per brand guidelines and cost targets.
- Coordinate with CAD, model-making and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible for production.
- Review samples and prototypes, suggest modifications and ensure design accuracy before final approval.
- Support custom order designs by understanding client requirements and translating them into sketches and CAD concepts.
- Maintain an organized library of designs, mood boards, references and technical specs.
- Stay updated on jewellery trends, competitor styles and new techniques in design and manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree/certificate in Jewellery Design, Fashion Design, Product Design or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience as a Jewellery Designer or Junior Jewellery Designer (retail brand, manufacturing unit, design studio or export house).
- Basic knowledge of gemstones, metals, settings and common jewellery manufacturing processes.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong sketching and visualization skills.
- Working knowledge of jewellery CAD/design software.
- Good sense of aesthetics, proportion and detailing.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow brand design language.
- Time management skills and ability to handle multiple design briefs.
- Willingness to learn, take feedback and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

- Experience in Indian bridal / traditional / contemporary / lightweight jewellery segments.
- Basic understanding of costing and market pricing.
- Ability to support social media or catalogue content with design inputs and visuals.
