Job Summary:
The customs data entry clerk is responsible for preparing and recording customs data for all incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring their compliance with Saudi customs regulations and instructions. The role also involves ensuring the readiness of documents and required approvals from regulatory authorities such as SASO, SFDA, and the SABER platform, ensuring smooth clearance operations and minimizing any remarks or delays.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Customs data management and entry
- Preparing and reviewing the required information before creating the customs declaration
- Accurately entering data through the FASAH system
- Matching the information in invoices, bill of lading, and certificate of origin with the customs entries
- Uploading the required documents and ensuring their validity before submitting the declaration
Compliance with Saudi customs regulations
- Applying the rules and regulations issued by the Saudi Customs Authority
- Reviewing any updates or changes in duties, restrictions, or customs requirements
- Ensuring that the declaration complies with all regulatory authorities’ requirements
Dealing with regulatory authorities
- Understanding and applying the requirements of:
- Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO)
- Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA)
- SABER
- Customs exemptions
- Following up conformity certificates, inspection certificates, and ensuring document readiness before starting the clearance process
4. Goods classification and customs codes:
- Identifying and applying the correct HS Codes for each item
- Ensuring the correct tariff and duties are applied for each code
- Verifying any requirements or restrictions related to classified materials
5. Follow-up and coordination:
- Coordinating with the customs broker to facilitate clearance
- Following up the shipment status until clearance procedures are completed
- Coordinating with transport companies, warehouses, and internal departments
6. Reporting and archiving:
- Preparing daily and weekly reports on completed and delayed shipments
- Keeping and archiving all customs documents in an organized and easily accessible manner
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field
Work Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience in customs data entry or clearance
- Practical experience in using the FASAH system
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Saudi customs systems and regulations
- Proficiency in handling SASO, SFDA, SABER, and customs exemptions requirements
- High ability to classify goods and read and understand HS Codes
- Proficiency in electronic systems related to shipping and clearance
Personal Skills:
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ﷼3,000.00 - ﷼3,500.00 per month
