TCG WORKS is a contracted provider for the Florida Department of Education, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (FLDOE/DVR). We are seeking motivated, community-focused professionals to join our team as Independent Contractor Job Developers.

Position Overview

The Job Developer is responsible for building relationships with local employers, identifying job opportunities, and assisting DVR participants in obtaining meaningful employment. This role involves employer outreach, networking, business engagement, and collaboration with participants, families, and vocational rehabilitation professionals.

This position is ideal for individuals with backgrounds in human resources, recruiting, education, workforce development, sales, community outreach, disability services, or vocational rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers.
  • Conduct employer outreach through phone calls, emails, networking events, and in-person visits.
  • Identify employment opportunities that align with participants' skills, interests, and career goals.
  • Coordinate interviews and hiring opportunities.
  • Market qualified DVR participants to employers.
  • Promote On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities and other DVR employment programs.
  • Collaborate with Employment Specialists, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, families, and community partners.
  • Assist participants in overcoming barriers to employment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of employer contacts and job development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Staffing, Workforce Development, Education, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, or Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including individuals requiring varying levels of support.
  • Experience working with students and adults with special needs in educational, vocational, community, or employment settings.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Familiarity with local employers and business communities is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation for local employer visits.

Additional Skills Preferred

The following are highly desirable but not required:

  • American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency.
  • Spanish-speaking ability.
  • Haitian Creole-speaking ability.
  • Experience working with neurodiverse individuals.
  • Experience with supported employment, transition services, or vocational rehabilitation programs.
  • Existing employer contacts within the assigned territory.
