About Newsom Educational

Living the Dream University now Newsom Educational College is a new nonprofit private college being built with one clear goal to make higher education more accessible inclusive and supportive especially for adult learners and those who have often been overlooked by traditional systems.

We are currently in the development and pilot phase of our academic programs and are beginning to build a founding pool of adjunct faculty who care deeply about students equity and thoughtful teaching.

About the Role

We are looking for adjunct faculty to join our pilot program and support future course offerings once programs officially launch. This posting is meant to connect with qualified instructors who may be interested in teaching with Newsom Educational College as we move toward approval and launch.

This role is a good fit for educators who enjoy helping shape new programs value inclusive and student centered teaching and are comfortable working in an institution that is still growing.

Teaching Areas

We anticipate offering courses in the following areas during the pilot phase

Sociology
Communication and Public Speaking
Business
Disability Studies
African American Studies
Latin American Studies
Integrated or Interdisciplinary Studies
Other general education courses connected to the social sciences humanities or business

Specific course offerings may shift as programs continue to develop.

Academic Terms and Schedule

Instruction is planned for spring and summer terms only during the pilot phase

Each term is 8 weeks long.

Courses will be delivered online primarily in a synchronous format

Compensation

Adjunct faculty are compensated at a rate of 425 dollars per credit hour taught

Final teaching assignments will depend on enrollment program approval and institutional needs at the time of launch.

Minimum Qualifications

A masters degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution

At least 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area you wish to teach

Previous college level teaching experience is preferred but not required

A commitment to inclusive accessible and student focused education

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a developing environment

Development Phase and Timeline

Newsom Educational College is still in the development and approval phase. Our current goal is to launch initial academic programs in 2027 though this timeline may shift to 2028 or later depending on state authorization and approval processes.

Because of this submitting an application does not guarantee immediate teaching assignments. This posting is intended to build a qualified faculty pool for future offerings once approval is finalized.

Tennessee Disclosure

Newsom Educational College is a private nonprofit institution in development. Academic programs are being prepared in alignment with applicable Tennessee requirements for postsecondary education. Authorization and accreditation pathways are actively in progress.
