Joinery Draftsman

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Draftsman with extensive experience in joinery and woodworking. The successful candidate will lead a team of draftsmen and work closely with production, design, and site departments to ensure accurate, high-quality technical drawings. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and the capacity to manage multiple project requirements efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of draftsmen, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to industry standards
• Produce precise and detailed shop drawings for custom joinery items including wardrobes, doors, wall cladding, counters, and cabinets
• Review and approve drawings submitted by junior draftsmen to ensure compliance with project specifications
• Convert interior design concepts into clear, fabrication-ready shop drawings
• Coordinate with production, procurement, and site teams to ensure all drawings meet project and manufacturing requirements
• Conduct site visits as needed to verify measurements and assess installation conditions
• Manage drawing schedules and ensure timely submission of all required documentation

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Drafting, Interior Design, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in joinery or woodworking, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory position
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of SolidWorks, SketchUp, or other 3D software is an advantage
• Strong understanding of joinery construction details, materials, hardware, and finishing standards
• Proven ability to lead a drafting team and produce high-quality technical drawings
• Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design plans
• Capable of doing detail joinery drawings including Doors, cabinetry, wall cladding, furniture etc.
