Job Description – Joinery Draftsman

Position: Joinery Draftsman
Location: Dubai, UAE
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in joinery/interior fit-out projects (UAE experience preferred)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Joinery Draftsman to prepare detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and as-built drawings for joinery and interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of joinery manufacturing processes, materials, and site coordination requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed joinery shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
• Develop and revise technical drawings based on project specifications and client requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, engineers, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Prepare cutting lists, material take-offs, and production details.
• Review architectural and interior design drawings and identify discrepancies.
• Conduct site visits and take measurements when required.
• Prepare as-built drawings upon project completion.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, quality requirements, and local regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing revision records.
• Support production and site teams by providing technical clarifications.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Joinery Draftsman in joinery manufacturing or interior fit-out projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Knowledge of SketchUp, 3D Max, SolidWorks, or other drafting software is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of joinery materials, woodworking techniques, hardware, and production processes.
• Ability to interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE/GCC experience in joinery and interior fit-out projects.
• Experience working with custom furniture, millwork, cabinetry, and wooden finishes.
• Knowledge of local authority requirements and industry standards.
