Joinery Draughtsman

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Joinery Draughtsman to join our fit-out team, specialising in high-quality joinery. The role focuses on producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for residential and commercial projects, with a strong emphasis on kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, and bathrooms.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating design concepts and client requirements into fully coordinated, production-ready drawings, while working closely with designers, project managers, and workshop teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical and shop drawings for joinery and carpentry packages, including kitchens, wardrobes, media units, and bathroom cabinetry
• Interpret architectural drawings, interior designs, and client briefs to develop accurate construction documentation
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards, manufacturing methods, and installation requirements
• Coordinate drawings with other trades (MEP, stone, appliances, hardware, glazing, etc.) to avoid clashes
• Prepare cutting lists, material specifications, and hardware schedules as required
• Liaise with production teams to ensure drawings are practical, efficient, and buildable
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to issue
• Support project managers with technical input during design development and construction phases
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior draughtsmen where required
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain proper version control throughout the project lifecycle

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Draughtsman, ideally within joinery, carpentry, or interior fit-out
• Strong experience producing detailed drawings for kitchens, wardrobes, media walls, and bathrooms
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent drafting software); experience with 3D software is an advantage
• Excellent understanding of joinery construction methods, materials, and hardware systems
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Desirable Qualifications

• Qualification in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Joinery, or a related field
• Experience working directly with manufacturing or workshop environments
• Knowledge of CNC manufacturing processes and shop-floor requirements
