Journalist

We are seeking a talented and driven Journalist to join our newsroom team at Dubai Media. The ideal candidate will play a key role in researching, developing, and delivering compelling news stories across print and digital platforms. This role requires a strong news sense, excellent storytelling abilities, and a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and journalistic excellence.

The Journalist will be responsible for conducting in-depth research, interviewing key sources, covering breaking news, and producing engaging content under tight deadlines. The role also involves collaborating closely with editors and newsroom teams to ensure stories align with editorial standards and resonate with audiences across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, investigate, and gather information through interviews, press releases, and various sources to produce accurate and engaging news stories.
• Pitch and develop story ideas that align with editorial direction and audience interests.
• Conduct interviews with experts, officials, and witnesses to verify facts and provide insightful reporting.
• Write clear, compelling, and accurate articles within fast-paced newsroom deadlines.
• Cover breaking news and provide timely updates for both print and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to refine story angles and ensure alignment with editorial standards.
• Adapt content for multimedia and digital platforms when required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key sources and stakeholders.
• Uphold the highest standards of journalistic ethics, accuracy, fairness, and confidentiality.
• Attend press conferences, events, and public engagements to gather first-hand information.
• Stay updated on industry trends, reporting techniques, and emerging media technologies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Be a UAE National
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a journalist or reporter with a strong portfolio of published work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a fast-paced media environment.
• Strong research, analytical, and investigative reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with multimedia reporting tools and digital publishing platforms.
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, editorial standards, and newsroom practices.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in journalism, reporting, or news writing.
• Experience working across both print and digital media platforms.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS), SEO practices, and online analytics tools.
• Experience covering breaking news and investigative reporting.
• Ability to create multimedia or cross-platform storytelling content.
