Journalist/Reporter

The Mountain Democrat, serving El Dorado County’s western slope, is looking for a part-time reporter to cover local courts, government affairs, community events and more. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are a must. This position requires in-office hours at our Placerville office at least two days a week. El Dorado County residency is preferable. Successful candidates will have a firm grasp of journalism techniques, including the ability to develop good relationships with sources, generate story ideas, use AP style and write on deadline — with attention to detail and accuracy. Photography skills are a plus.
