Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems, with a strong background in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex electrical equipment. This role involves working on construction sites, renovation projects, and ongoing facility maintenance, ensuring all work complies with NEC standards and safety regulations. The Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician will be responsible for interpreting schematics, reading blueprints, and utilizing various hand and power tools to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and construction environments.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to determine wiring layouts and specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems while adhering to NEC standards for safety and compliance.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot automation systems.
- Perform wiring of control panels, switchgear, and distribution boards using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct renovation work on existing electrical systems during construction or remodeling projects.
- Ensure all work is performed according to safety protocols, including proper handling of high voltage systems.
- Collaborate with construction teams on-site to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Maintain a clean work environment and document all work performed for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician with a valid journeyman/journeywoman license.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites, renovations, or facility maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and low/high voltage systems.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and control wiring.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; testing instruments like ohmmeters.
- Experience with framing carpentry or maintenance person tasks is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights in various environmental conditions. Pay: $28.73 - $34.60 per hour
