Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure safe, efficient, and compliant electrical operations while supporting a wide range of electrical needs on construction sites and ongoing maintenance projects. Duties

• Install, wire, and test electrical systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and schematics.
• Read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to accurately execute electrical layouts.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters, power tools, and hand tools to diagnose faults efficiently.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on low voltage and high voltage electrical systems across commercial and industrial settings.
• Work safely on construction sites by adhering to safety protocols, including proper handling of high voltage equipment and low voltage systems.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to coordinate installation activities.
• Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks in industrial environments and support renovation projects requiring electrical upgrades.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure all work complies with safety standards and electrical codes.

Experience

• Proven experience as an electrician with a valid journeyman license or equivalent certification.
• Demonstrated industrial electrician experience working with complex control systems including programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Commercial electrician experience handling diverse wiring projects in retail, office buildings, or manufacturing facilities.
• Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and electrical system troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with NEC regulations, low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and renovation projects.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers as well as power tools like drills and saws for installation tasks.
• Construction site experience working safely in dynamic environments while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Knowledge of Ohmmeters for circuit testing and troubleshooting electrical faults effectively.
• Additional handyman skills or frame carpentry experience are a plus to support diverse project needs. Pay: $36.00 - $42.00 per hour
