Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the NEC (National Electrical Code). Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute electrical installations and repairs.
- Work with low voltage systems including control wiring for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC standards and local electrical codes while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical installations alongside framing carpentry and other trades.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on high voltage and low voltage systems to prevent failures or hazards.
- Utilize schematics effectively for troubleshooting complex electrical issues on construction sites or during renovations.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical practices.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Experience reading blueprints, schematics, control wiring diagrams, and schematics for automation systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Ability to work safely with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) systems in diverse environments.
- Knowledge of construction processes including framing carpentry and handyman skills for versatile project support.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues efficiently.
