Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across various facilities. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Operate and interpret programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate and control machinery processes.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed for structural or electrical component fabrication and repairs.
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks, including electrical upgrades, system upgrades, and routine inspections.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters to measure electrical resistance and ensure system integrity.
- Read and follow detailed schematics to accurately execute wiring and circuit configurations.
- Supervise junior team members or apprentices during projects, providing guidance and leadership.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring electrical systems run smoothly with minimal downtime.
- Engage in customer service by communicating effectively with clients or internal teams regarding project status or technical issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized by relevant authorities.
- Extensive electrical experience in industrial, commercial, or residential settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to electrical components and systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively when required.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices and CMMS software for work tracking.
- Knowledge of residential painting is a plus for multi-disciplinary projects involving building finishes.
- Supervising experience demonstrating leadership skills in managing teams or projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration.
