Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to perform commercial and industrial electrical work. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience, can work independently or as part of a crew, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality installations in accordance with code and project requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, bend, and support conduit systems (EMT, Rigid, IMC, PVC, underground)
- Pull, route, and secure electrical conductors and cables
- Perform terminations on panels, switchgear, transformers, motors, and equipment
- Install lighting systems, devices, and electrical distribution equipment
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics
- Assist with layout and rough-in work
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective repairs
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and company standards
- Follow all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite requirements
- Participate in job briefings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
- Work effectively with foremen, other electricians, apprentices, and trades
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
- Mentor apprentices when assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
- Journeyman Electrician Level
- Minimum 3–5 years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
- Strong experience with:
- Conduit bending (hand and mechanical benders)
- Wire pulling (branch circuits and feeders)
- Electrical terminations and device installation
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of NEC and standard electrical practices
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience with:
- Switchgear and power distribution
- Motor controls and VFDs
- Fire alarm and low-voltage systems
- Underground installations and duct banks
- Lighting control systems
- Experience on active commercial or industrial job sites
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and operate lifts
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
