We’re looking for a skilled Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities and Engineering team. In this critical role, you’ll help keep production and manufacturing running at peak performance. You’ll maintain and repair plant equipment and facilities, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot complex issues using your mechanical expertise and diagnostic skills. You will get to:
- Inspect, repair, and perform general maintenance on packaging, processing, and other plant equipment or facilities. Carry out journeyman-level industrial maintenance on packaging, processing, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, boiler, wastewater, and other plant support equipment under various environmental conditions in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, including utilizing EAM to review work orders, log resources used, and update status.

Provide Processing and Packaging operators and other team members with technical assistance and training on equipment and processes as needed.

Perform preventive maintenance duties on assigned support equipment according to schedule.

Inspect defective support equipment, diagnose malfunctions, apply corrective measures, and inform Engineering and supervisory personnel of suggested permanent fixes.

Assemble, fabricate, and repair equipment.

Serve as a first responder in emergency situations. Complete 24-hour HAZWOPER training and a doctor’s examination to receive SCBA and full facemask training and maintain certification with annual 8-hour refresher training.

Complete training in cGMP compliance and, when required, repair or troubleshoot equipment during cGMP manufacturing.

Perform work in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

Take on additional activities or assignments in other areas as requested by the Maintenance Manager.

Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.

We are looking for someone who has:

Generally, 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including experience with processing and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of a state certified mechanical apprenticeship training program (i.e. millwright) or equivalent.

Completion of State certified courses, LME apprenticeship or related a plus.

PSM knowledge or experience with PSM programs a plus.

Experience maintaining and/or repairing canning/packing equipment, boilers, compressors, hydraulic systems and vacuum systems highly desirable.

Must be able to work independently and have good organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Must have reliable transportation to travel between company facilities during work hours and to attend off-site company events as needed.
