Position Summary

The Mechanical/HVAC Journeyman installs, assembles, and starts up HVAC systems on new construction and retrofit projects and supports the Foreman in leading day-to-day field activities. This role also mentors apprentices and helps drive schedule, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and run spiral, TDF, and S&D duct; build/level equipment curbs; lay out and cut duct with accurate measurements and offsets.
• Set HVAC equipment and related accessories; apply a variety of hanging systems per plans and specs.
• Lead a small crew; train apprentices; complete daily/weekly reports (time, toolbox talks, daily logs).
• Read/interpret blueprints and specifications; coordinate work to meet schedule and quality requirements.
• Operate scissor/boom lifts and material handling equipment; use required hand/power tools (e.g., impact drill, recip saw).
• Enforce and model jobsite safety and housekeeping standards.
• Travel to project sites nationwide as assigned.

Dependable, decisive, resourceful, flexible, and proactive; able to take and give direction effectively; comfortable with extensive travel and working away from home.

Physical Demands Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting; lift 50 lbs repeatedly; climb ladders; work at heights from scaffolds and lifts; drive between job sites; perform other manual labor as needed.
