Journeyman Roofer

Axiom Roofing Oregon, an established commercial flat roofing contractor located in Wilsonville Oregon, is currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Roofer to join our team.

Working as part of a roofing crew, the Journeyman level roofer may expect to perform the following:

• Cleans work area and restocks materials, tools, equipment and supplies on the construction site.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment.
• Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers.
• Heat-welds, screws, clips, caulks, and bonds component parts to assemble final roof.
• Fabricates, cuts, and applies roof assembly materials on jobsite, including polyiso insulation, substrate boards, cover boards, various single-membrane materials as well as SBS (built-up) materials strictly following manufacturer’s recommendations and foreman’s direction.
• Teaches/oversee installation means and methods to laborer level employees.
• Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
• Applies alternate layers of roofing inter-plies, insulation, coverboards with screws, hot tar, and/or torch to existing roof deck to build up a roof surface;
• Sets flashing and expansion joints; installs base flashings, cuts roofing membranes, accessories, and other roofing materials to fit roof corners, pipes, etc.
• Uses asphalt and commercial compounds on overlapping joints;
• Inspects and identifies leaks or installation flaws on all types of roofs, patches and probes applied roofing.
• Lifts objects and works at high elevations on a routine basis.
• Applies thorough knowledge of standard practices, site safety, methods, processes, materials, machines and tools of the trade, as well as occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail Oriented and Organized

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
