Responsibilities:
- Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools.
- Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowel. Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise.
- Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results.
- Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly. May include removal of previous materials.
- Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms.
- Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs.
- Perform quality control assessments throughout the duration of every project to ensure the completion of all work to a standard of excellence.
- Supervise, coach, and train helpers.
- All other duties assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The employee must frequently lift and /or move more than 50 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Must be able to determine small color variations to determine best-looking finish.
