Objective
The Junior Designer will assist the design team in creating detailed drawings, ff&e schedules, drawing schedules, material research and procurement tracking. This role supports the design process, ensuring projects meet Houck Construction’s high standards for quality and customer service.

Houck Construction delivers a white-glove, concierge-level experience to all clients. The Junior Designer must demonstrate:

Key Responsibilities
Design Support
- Assist design team through all phases of a project including conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents, and construction.
- Produce detailed drawings and plans and models using software such as Revit and 3ds Max.
- Create 3D visualizations to support design presentations.
- Assist in material selections, finish schedules, procurement, and tracking.
Project Collaboration
- Work closely with the design team and other departments, including construction, to ensure designs are cohesive and executable.
- Conduct research on materials, finishes, and fixtures to support design recommendations.
Documentation and Organization
- Maintain accurate project files, ensuring all design documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Assist with the preparation of permit drawings and other required documentation.
On-Site Support
- Participate in site visits to support the design team in verifying measurements.
Minimum Performance Metrics
- Timely and accurate completion of design deliverables, including drawings and presentations.
- Positive feedback from team members and clients on professionalism and quality of work.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and contribute to various phases of the design process.
Performance metrics will be evaluated and assigned annually in alignment with Houck Construction’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in design support or a related role, ideally in high-end residential projects.
- Proficiency in design software (Revit, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with project management software (Programa, Studio Designer).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of building codes and luxury materials (preferred).

Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
