Jr. Equity M&A Analyst

EQUITY RESEARCH ANALYST:

A leading Event Driven, Special Situation Investment & Advisory Group is looking to hire an experienced equity M&A analyst to join their existing equity team in NYC. The firm has a global presence and a top rated research product which has been recognized with numerous industry awards.

The firm's clients are major buy side funds across equities, derivatives, options and credit, providing corporate access in addition to equity research.They have an opening for an analyst to work as part of their NY equity research team.

The Analyst will work alongside the other analysts producing research across a variety of sectors in the event driven space. Training will be provided to help you adapt to the role and in time you will be encouraged to take a proactive approach to idea generation and be expected to regularly speak with and meet the firm's clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial and quantitative research to evaluate special situations, merger and acquisition deals.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data, including financial statements, market trends, and industry reports
  • Develop detailed financial models to assess valuation, cash flow and deal scenarios
  • Perform risk analysis to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies
  • Support the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and investment memos for senior management and stakeholders

Skills

  • Strong understanding of mergers & acquisitions processes and investment banking principles
  • Expert in financial concepts such as valuation techniques, cash flow analysis, and credit analysis
  • Expertise in financial analysis, quantitative research, and statistical analysis using advanced financial software tools
  • Solid knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting methods, and risk assessment techniques
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets accurately
  • Ability to perform detailed financial report writing with clarity and precision
  • Familiarity with investment banking practices, credit evaluation, and risk management strategies

REQUIREMENTS:

-MUST HAVE 1-3 years’ experience in an investment banking analyst program for equities or M&A, or as a desk research associate at a bank or fund.

-Solid understanding of financial set-up, modeling, valuations and economics.

-Excellent investment analysis software user

-Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

Candidates MUST have 1-3 years experience as a research analyst.

BASE + BONUS

Pay: $85,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
