Jr. Full Stack Engineer

CSI Companies is seeking an experienced Junior Full Stack Engineer (Software Engineer I) with one to two years of professional experience to support the development and maintenance of services within a large regulated enterprise platform.

This role is ideal for an early career engineer who is eager to grow both backend and foundational frontend skills while working within established architectures patterns and best practices.

You will work closely with senior and staff engineers to implement well defined features enhance existing APIs and contribute to user facing components where needed. This role emphasizes learning mentorship and hands on contribution rather than system architecture ownership.

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday during standard business hours

Location: Hybrid ( within one of these cities: Dallas , Chicago, Washington DC , Louisville )

Pay: $30-32/hr based on relevant experience education and credentials

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and or Python under established design patterns

• Implement and enhance REST APIs based on clear technical specifications

• Contribute to frontend features and UI updates using existing frameworks when needed

• Work with shared components and follow established frontend design patterns

• Write clean testable and maintainable code following team standards

• Consume existing internal and external APIs services and event streams

• Debug issues perform bug fixes and support performance improvements

• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers

• Support application deployments through existing CI CD pipelines

• Follow documented security compliance and operational procedures

What we are looking for

• One to two years of professional software engineering experience including internships

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience

• Working knowledge of backend development using Node.js or Python

• Basic experience with frontend technologies such as JavaScript HTML CSS or a modern framework

• Understanding of HTTP REST APIs and core software engineering concepts

• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows

• Strong desire to learn accept feedback and grow in a team environment

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React or similar

• Basic understanding of event based systems or message queues

• Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments

• Familiarity with automated testing and debugging tools
