Core Responsibilities
- Sample Collection & Handling
- Assist in collecting blood, urine, sputum, and other patient samples.
- Label and store specimens properly to avoid mix-ups.
- Basic Laboratory Testing
- Perform routine tests (blood sugar, hemoglobin, urine analysis, etc.) under supervision.
- Prepare slides and assist in microscopy for basic diagnostic purposes.
- Support Senior Technicians
- Shadow experienced lab staff to learn standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Help in setting up equipment and preparing reagents.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Record test results accurately in registers or hospital software.
- Maintain logs of daily tests and assist in preparing reports for doctors.
- Quality & Safety Compliance
- Follow infection control protocols and biosafety guidelines.
- Ensure cleanliness of lab workspace and proper disposal of biohazard waste.

- Exposure to clinical pathology, microbiology, and biochemistry basics.
- Training in hospital laboratory workflow—from patient sample collection to report delivery.
