Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Jr – Mid Backend Engineer at Papcorns.

You will work closely with mobile engineers, designers, and product managers to build and maintain the backend systems powering applications used by millions of people. This role is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a real product environment and learn how scalable mobile backends are built and operated.

The role is based in Istanbul, Türkiye , with flexibility for some remote work.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in backend development
• Proficiency in Node.js
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or a similar relational database
• Working knowledge of Firestore or similar NoSQL database
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase
• Basic knowledge of Git
• Ability to write and maintain code with AI with IDEs like (Cursor / Claude Code / Antigravity )
• Ability to collaborate with teammates and communicate ideas clearly
• Good command of written and spoken English
  
  

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Python
• Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with AI / LLM integrations
• Background in mobile backend or consumer app environments
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and APIs that support mobile apps at scale
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define data models and API contracts
• Work on infrastructure and reliability — performance, scalability, monitoring
• Contribute to integrations with third-party services (AI, analytics, payments)
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions
• Debug, optimize, and improve existing systems
• Continuously learn and improve your technical skills
