Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Plant Manager to lead operations at our CSEB, block/brick manufacturing facility. producing sustainable, high-performance building materials that power eco-friendly construction.
The Plant Manager will oversee end-to-end plant operations, ensure optimal production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and lead a team committed to innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities1. Plant Operations & Production Management
- Oversee daily operations of the block manufacturing plant.
- Plan and execute production schedules to meet project timelines and output targets.
- Monitor machine performance, mixing ratios, curing cycles, and block strength parameters.
- Optimize production processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and minimal waste.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
- Implement and monitor QC protocols for raw materials (soil, sand, stabilizer, cement), block strength, dimensions, finish, and durability.
- Ensure adherence to relevant construction, safety, and environmental standards (IS standards or project-specific norms).
- Conduct frequent batch testing and maintain quality documentation.
- Problem-solve any issues with the machine in coordination with the maintenance teams, machine manufacturers, and other local vendors to come up with solutions in the event of breakdowns, and other stoppage in production.
3. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead and supervise plant labours, operators and helpers.
- Plan shifts, allocate daily tasks, and ensure adequate manpower for all operations.
- Train team members on machinery operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Foster a culture of discipline, innovation, and safety.
- Coordinate with procurement, maintenance and HR departments for daily operations and planning of all works.
4. Inventory, Material & Machine Management
- Track raw material consumption, maintain optimum stock levels, and coordinate procurement.
- Ensure proper maintenance of mixers, hydraulic presses, conveyors, curing yards, and loaders.
- Prepare preventive maintenance plans in coordination with the maintenance team.
- Minimize breakdowns and ensure high machine uptime.
5. Data, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports, quality logs, material usage records, and downtime reports.
- Present weekly and monthly performance metrics to management.
- Ensure all statutory registers, safety documents, and audit records are updated.
- Ensure Health cards, Police verifications, and other HR regulations are up to date in conjunction with the HR department.
6. Safety, Sustainability & Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols and PPE usage across the plant.
- Drive sustainable practices in line with the company’s solarpunk vision (waste reduction, water recycling, energy efficiency).
- Ensure compliance with pollution control norms and environmental guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in block manufacturing, precast, construction material production, or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of soil strata analysis, production processes, machine operations, and QC standards for block manufacturing.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle manpower in a factory environment and manage operational pressures.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety protocols.
Preferred
- Experience in sustainable construction materials or green manufacturing practices will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to automation, lean manufacturing, or process optimization tools.
- Passion for climate-positive innovation and solarpunk design principles
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
