Jr. Software Developer

Job Overview
Responsible for and engaged in all phases of the software development lifecycle, which include gathering and analyzing user and business system requirements, responding to outages and creating application system models. Participating in design meetings and consulting with clients to refine, test, and debug programs to meet business needs. Interacting and sometimes directing third party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces.
  • Directing system testing and validation procedures.
  • Directing software programming and documentation development.
  • Consulting with peers, clients, or vendors on project status and proposals.
  • Working with peers or clients on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
  • Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of existing systems.
  • Consulting with information technology staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
  • Designing and developing software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and design consequences.
  • Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and supportive relationships with users.
  • Answers technical inquiries from users.
  • Works flexible hours; at times outside the normal work week.
  • Supports current IT and regulatory standards.
  • Continues personal development and education to remain informed of current industry development and technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of previous Software Engineering experience.
  • 4+ years years of experience with:
  • Python.
  • Java.
  • Front-end development: HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Web services/API
  • SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Proficiency in version control
  • Proficiency in secure code methodology
  • Proficiency with workload automation software (experience with OpCon preferred)
  • Knowledge of Corelation Keystone
  • Knowledge of Corelation Batch Scripting
  • Knowledge of Corelation UI Scripting
  • Experience working on a Development team preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
  • Experience designing and building platform independent mobile applications preferred.

Skills/Qualifications

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. They include but are not limited to, the ability to operation a computer and other standard office equipment. Position may use small tools to make repairs and adjustments to hardware. In addition, the follow skills and qualifications are necessary.

  • Expected to demonstrate coded unit tests with sprint deliveries.
  • Expected to collaborate and pair with all members of the team.
  • Expected to follow established SDLC process.
  • Advanced software and performance tuning abilities.
  • Good understanding of DevOps software development principles and techniques.
  • Previous experience in iterative software development.
  • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software patterns.
  • Experience implementing N-Tier/Service Oriented Architectures.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and multiple software development approaches.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to system security technology.
  • The knowledge and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • The ability to organize and prioritize requests in order to meet established schedules, timelines and deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain effect work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the job.

Pay: From $63,673.55 per year
