JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a proactive Jr. Web Developer to join our team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing our websites, supporting both technical and design needs. This role involves working on both front-end and back-end development, upkeep of existing sites, and creating new features.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position reports directly to the VP of Marketing and Commercial Development. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires the following minimum qualifications:

EDUCATION: College graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Software Engineering, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: Driver’s License
- EXPERIENCE: Experience in advertising, marketing, copywriting, or public relations
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
- Experience building and maintaining websites, including working with content management systems.
- Strong programming skills and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks as needed.
- Strong front – end development skills using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front – end frameworks.
- Familiarity with updating themes, dependencies, and templates.
- General understanding of server environments and basic website administration
- Experience with webhooks, APIs, and integrations with third-party services
- Familiarity with website analytics and strategies for improving traffic and engagement.
- Experience with Docker and Containerization
- Optimize website performance and ensure compliance with SEO and accessibility standards.
- Utilize version control systems to manage updates and track changes.
- Arrange payment and billing for domain names, certificates, and third-party services associated with our websites.
- Develop and implement new website features based on company needs.
- Maintain and update company websites, ensuring they remain functional, secure, and up to date.

ESSENTIAL AUTHORITIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS
This position has the following authorities and responsibilities:
AUTHORITIES: The position of Jr. Web Developer includes all authority necessary to conduct and manage the daily activities required within the Web Developer’s functions. This authority is given by the VP of Marketing and Commercial Development. This includes authority to direct or perform all activities which are within the Jr. Web Developer’s defined span of control, and which is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position. All such activities are to be carried out within the bound of established policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: The position has the following responsibilities and functions:
- Basic Website Content Support:

Create, update and maintain

Product pages, new articles, and landing pages using CMS tools (Craft CMS and WordPress)

User and Dealer accounts on e-commerce sites
- Digital Asset Production
- Create, optimize and upload digital media including text, images, PDFs, and video
- Quality Assurance
- Test website functionality after updates and major changes to improve user experience
- Ensure consistency in company messaging, product descriptions, categories, and naming conventions

Security Awareness
- Assist in monitoring for suspicious activity (e.g., failed orders, unusual login attempts) and escalate to the Web Developer or IT

Basic Website Maintenance
- Manage WordPress site backups
- Keep WordPress, plugins, and themes updated
- SEO Assistance
- Apply SEO best practices (page titles, meta descriptions, alt text, keyword consistency)

Support product/category tagging for search improvements (synonyms, related terms like “curing lamp” vs “curing light”)

Monitor analytics dashboards (Cloudflare, Google Analytics, and other tools) to provide basic performance reports

Customer Acquisition Support – Coordinate with the Marketing team to implement strategies that drive new customer traffic through SEO, paid ads, and social media links.

Collaboration & Support:

Serve as first line of support for routine website requests:
- Looking up products, orders, or customers for other departments
- Running website reports (e.g., coupon usage in a time period, list of products by brand)

Adding/editing products on e-commerce sites (price and inventory changes, category assignments, product relationships)

Serve as a point of contact for website needs when the Sr. Web Developer is not available, including:
-
Answering routine questions about our websites
- Performing basic troubleshooting
- Attend meetings
- Document workflows (e.g., how to add/edit products, investigate failed orders, update dealer list
- Coordinate with Sr. Web Developer for technical issues, major changes or troubleshooting
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In general, the working conditions are as follows:
- Clean environment and normal working temperatures. Usually, an office environment with some exposure to the production floor
- Normal working hours are 8 am to 5pm, with one (1) hour off for lunch.
- Morning Break: 20 minutes; and Afternoon Break: 20 minutes
- Breaks are not guaranteed. They are provided at management’s discretion and may be rescinded at any time without notice. Breaks represent “opportunities” to break from your work. These opportunities are “not” available for use if any one of the following two conditions exist:

The position requires the following:
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, and carry throughout entire shift.
- Must be able to work at computer terminal for up to four hours at a time.
- Must be able to consistently lift 35 lbs. from floor or table position to chest high using a proper lifting technique and repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts.
- Must demonstrate good hand/eye coordination and demonstrate good manual dexterity.
