Jr Windows Field Tech (full-time)

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Jr Windows Field Technician for a FULL-TIME assignment with one of our premier Technology clients in New York City. This is a non-exempt hourly job with a typical 40-50 hour week that is paid hourly with full benefits. This is a field support position and you will be deployed daily throughout NYC starting and ending your day on Randalls Island anywhere between 6 and 8AM ending between 2 and 4 PM.

This role is computer based, making it ideal for those with/desire in very basic electrical skills . Junior level candidates with 1-2 years of field work are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities :

• The Field Support Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting vehicle mounted cameras and components both in-person and by logging in remotely, repairing / replacing failed components, and reporting your findings.
• This position is increasingly IT based but has basic electrical wiring knowledge or interest is ideal.
• Since this is a customer-facing role, the resource needs to be skilled in managing customer interactions and expectations in a very professional and rigorous environment. Most of our clients are Law Enforcement organizations, so interactions need to be timely and precise. Wiring work is expected to be executed safely, consistently and neatly at all times.
  
  

Required Skills :

• Technical Skills: Experience with the Windows desktop environment, and familiarity with command line and PowerShell is required. Familiarity with computer imaging/backups. Server management, and SQL reports would be nice or the desire to learn. Experience troubleshooting program installations and having a CompTIA A+ certification will be advantageous.
• Electrical and Wiring: H ave very basic low voltage electrical experience. The ability to trace and fit wires through vehicles and be familiar with vehicle wiring and electrical components would be a plus.
• Network Setup and Troubleshooting: Experience in setting up and troubleshooting network devices is essential. Some networking experience is a plus (switches, cabling, and cellular)
• Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs and to be comfortable driving long distances daily.
• To succeed in this position, you should also be able to read prints, diagrams, and understand how various electronics interconnect and communicate.
