Job Title: Junior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts – Hotel Retail Units

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates


Position Overview:

The Junior Accountant will support the restaurant’s finance function by handling day-to-day accounting operations, assisting in financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory regulations. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting Operations

  • Record daily sales, covers, discounts, and payment summaries from POS and ensure reconciliation with bank and cash deposits.
  • Maintain petty cash records and process expense claims with supporting documentation.
  • Update supplier invoices, match with LPOs & GRNs, and process for payment approval.
  • Monitor inventory-related entries (food, beverage, consumables) and ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Preparation of daily revenue, cash and expenses JV and postings to Sun system.


Reconciliation & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing daily/weekly revenue and expense reports.
  • Perform supplier and customer account reconciliations.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure timely clearance of discrepancies.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.


Compliance & Control

  • Ensure VAT compliance by maintaining proper documentation for sales and purchases.
  • Assist in payroll-related accounting and statutory requirements (WPS, gratuity, leave accruals).
  • Support audits (internal and external) by preparing required schedules and
  • documentation.


Support to Management

  • Provide data to management for decision-making, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Work closely with operations, procurement, and store teams to validate transactions.
  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports as required by management.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience (hospitality/restaurant industry preferred).
  • Knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and accounting software (e.g., SunSystem , FMC, Symphony or similar).
  • Basic knowledge in Income Audit, Cost Controller, AR & AP.
  • Basic understanding of UAE VAT regulations and WPS payroll system.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).
  • High attention to detail, organizational ability, and integrity.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
