Junior accountant

Job Summary ASCA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, assisting with bookkeeping activities, supporting audit engagements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in accounting, audit, and financial advisory services.

Key Responsibilities Maintain and update accounting records and bookkeeping transactions. Record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions. Prepare bank, receivable, payable, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules. Support audit engagements by gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial information. Prepare audit working papers and documentation. Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable IFRS and IAS requirements. Support tax-related assignments and regulatory filings where required. Perform data analysis and financial reporting using Microsoft Excel. Communicate professionally with clients to obtain required documentation and information. Assist senior team members with accounting, audit, and consultancy assignments. Requirements Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. ACCA student, ACCA affiliate, CA student, or equivalent qualification preferred. Technical Skills Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS). Understanding of accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis. Familiarity with accounting software is an advantage. Personal Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
