Junior Application Tester (QA Engineer)

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Test Cases: Perform functional, regression, integration, and UI testing on React frontends and Node.js backend services.
• Bug Tracking: Identify, isolate, document, and track software bugs using tools like Jira. Provide clear, reproducible steps for developers.
• API Testing: Validate backend API endpoints and data flows using tools like Postman or Insomnia.
• AI/ML Feature Validation: Assist in testing AI/ML-powered functionalities by verifying model outputs against expected mock datasets and monitoring for anomalies.
• Collaboration: Participate in sprint planning and daily standups to understand product requirements and provide early QA feedback.

Required Technical Skills

• Web Tech Familiarity: Basic understanding of how web apps work, specifically with React (frontend) and Node.js (backend architectures). You don't need to write production code, but you must know how to inspect elements and look through logs.
• Testing Basics: 1+ years of manual testing experience. Exposure to automation tools (like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium) is a big plus.
• API Testing: Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman.
• Introductory AI/ML Knowledge: Basic conceptual understanding of how AI/ML features work (e.g., recognizing model drift, handling unexpected data outputs, or understanding data bias). High-level curiosity beats extensive experience here.
• Database Basics: Basic SQL or NoSQL (MongoDB) knowledge to check data validity.
