Junior Auto Electrician / Field Engineer

Job Summary

Fleet Witness is looking for a Junior Field Engineer to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build a career in automotive electrical engineering, working with vehicle CCTV, tracking, and safety systems across commercial fleets.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining real-world experience in vehicle electrics, installations, and fault finding.

Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday (primary working days)
• 1–2 Saturdays per month (rota basis)
• Weekend work is paid as overtime or TOIL, in line with Company policy
• Regular UK travel required
• Occasional overnight stays required

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of vehicle CCTV, tracking systems, and safety equipment
• Support with vehicle wiring, mounting, and system setup
• Carry out basic fault finding and diagnostics
• Complete job notes and installation photos to company standards
• Support inspections and report issues
• Follow all health and safety procedures
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site

• Practical, hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Reliable and professional attitude
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently once trained

We take pride in neat, high-quality installations, so attention to detail is essential.Desirable (Not Essential)

• Experience with auto-electrics, CCTV, or telematics
• Basic understanding of 12V/24V systems
• Experience using tools or working on vehicles

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Willingness to travel across the UK

What We Offer

Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience)
