Junior Django/Python Backend Developer

1. About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Django Developer to join our fast-paced backend team. This is a crucial role for a candidate eager to gain hands-on experience in a major architectural transformation. You will be responsible for implementing new features, contributing to the crucial process of monolithic refactoring, and ensuring code quality across the platform.

2. Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on execution, quality, and integration within an existing high-traffic application:

Feature Implementation & Code Quality

• Code Execution: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python/Django code to implement features and build new services as directed by technical leads.
• Testing & Quality: Commit to high code quality. Write comprehensive unit and integration tests for all application logic to ensure stability and resilience during the refactoring process.
• Refactoring Support: Execute assigned refactoring tasks, systematically converting complex components of the existing monolithic application into clean, modular code units under senior guidance.

API Development & Collaboration

• API Development & Integration: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Django Rest Framework (DRF) that integrate seamlessly with the existing React frontend.
• Collaboration: Actively participate in code reviews, learn new architectural patterns, and work closely with the Frontend and DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential Skills

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional experience in backend development using Python and the Django framework.
• Code Discipline: Strong dedication to writing high-quality, easily maintainable code, with practical experience writing unit tests (e.g., using pytest).
• Database: Proficiency in SQL and working effectively with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and the Django ORM.
• API Integration: Familiarity with how data is exchanged between frontend (React/HTML/CSS) and backend, including basic knowledge of JSON and HTTP protocols.

Tools & Processes

• Familiarity with Git and standard collaborative development workflows.
• Basic concepts of Docker and containerization are highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
